We are very pleased to announce the upcoming opening of He Xiangyu’s fourth solo exhibition at White Space Beijing on October 24, 2015. The exhibition will showcase He Xiangyu’s latest works.

He Xiangyu’s experimentation of artistic practice has included a wide range of media, in which perception and colors remain essential to his interests. Individual reflections and inquiries to a visual-dominated world suggest an inconspicuous interconnection between natural and artificial materials. In Dotted Line II, He Xiangyu extends notions examined through the projects he developed this year in Berlin and Beijing. With exploring tactile sensation as a starting point, the exhibition portrays sensation in various visual forms, offering another scheme in understanding perception. Threaded within a varied-dimension space, a progression of materials furnishes perpetual experience and interaction. The exhibition reexamines interrelationship between suffusion and vacancy, concrete and precariousness, dependence and repulsion, in a transformation from the act of encountering to a passive acceptance.

He Xiangyu was born in Dandong, Liaoning Province in 1986, he currently lives and works in Beijing and Berlin. His most recent exhibitions in 2015 include 13e Biennale de Lyon, Lyon, France; Fire and Forget, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin, Germany; 28 Chinese, Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, USA;New Directions: He Xiangyu, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing, China.
